Om Prakash Chouhan Winner

New Delhi, 17 October 2026: Om Prakash Chouhan played 34 holes on Saturday to remain the best-placed Indian at the US$4 million DP World India Championship, tied 30th at five-under 211 (68-72-71) at Delhi Golf Club.

Spain’s Eugenio Chacarra (67-67) leads at 14 under. He was four under through 11 holes of his third round when play was suspended for fading light at 5.44pm.

The four hours and 50 minutes lost to storms on Thursday left the schedule behind all week. The second round was only completed on Saturday morning. Seventy-seven players made the halfway cut at even-par 144, and 26 of them finished their third rounds before play was stopped.

A long day for Chouhan

Chouhan had played just two holes of his second round, both pars, when play was halted on Friday. He came back early on Saturday and was on the course for most of the day.

He finished his second round in 72, with four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey, to be tied 29th at the halfway stage. In the afternoon he added a third-round 71, with two birdies, a bogey and several important par saves.

The 40-year-old from Mhow, a 12-time professional winner, played on the DP World Tour in 2024 after topping the DP World PGTI Order of Merit in 2023. He is seventh on this season’s Order of Merit.

Sandhu’s late charge

Yuvraj Sandhu produced the most dramatic Indian fightback of the morning. The reigning DP World PGTI Order of Merit champion was three over through the first seven holes of his second round and in danger of missing the cut.

He then made seven birdies between the ninth and the 18th, including four in his last five holes, for a 68 that took him to one-under 143 (75-68) and safely into the weekend. He was level par through five holes of his third round and tied 60th.

Lahiri and Talwar

Anirban Lahiri (70-73) was one under through 16 holes of his third round and tied 48th.

Saptak Talwar (71-73), who leads the DP World PGTI Order of Merit, was level par through 12 holes of his third round and tied 60th. Talwar is on course to finish the season at the top of the Order of Merit, which carries a DP World Tour card.

Shiv Kapur and Karandeep Kochhar were the other Indians to make the cut.

Chacarra in control

Chacarra, the 2025 Hero Indian Open champion, opened with rounds of 67 and 67 and kept moving forward on Saturday. A win would lift the Spaniard to the top of the Race to Dubai standings with three events left in the DP World Tour season.

The remaining players will return early on Sunday to complete their third rounds before the final round, making for another long day at the Delhi Golf Club. Read the second-day report.
