ISL return leg semi-final: Heroes and Zeroes from the match between FC Goa and Delhi Dynamos

Delhi Dynamos FC Goa 1FC Goa routed Delhi Dynamos 3-0 in the return leg of the semi-final of the Indian Super League to proceed to the finals of the competition. Goa had a superior aggregate score of 3-1 over Dynamos as goals from Jofre, Rafael Cohelo and Dudu ensured victory for the Ghaurs. They will now play either Atletico de Kolkata or Chennaiyin FC on 20th December in their home ground in Fatodra for their ISL trophy. FC Goa played a highly entertaining football to decimate their rivals and to proceed to the finals in style.

Let’s take a look at the Heroes and Zeroes from yesterday's match:

FC Goa:

Heroes:

1) Dudu Omagbemi: The veteran Nigerian worked really hard in Tuesday’s match as he maintained a constant pressure on the Dynamos defence. He scored the final goal for his team which helped the Ghaurs to secure a spot in this edition of the Indian Super League. He too was awarded the Hero of the Match award for his brilliant performance on the field.

2) Jofre: Jofre scored the first goal of the night which helped FC Goa to level the aggregate score in just the 11 minute of the match. His early goal gave Goa the chance to be relieved of the deficit pressure and attack freely for the rest of the match. Jofree, too, helped Leo Moura to win the midfield battle for FC Goa which surely paid dividends for the Ghaurs in the match.

3) Lucio: The Brazilian World Cup winner defender defended valiantly alongside Gregory, Mandar and Pronay to give the rival strikers no chance whatsoever to score any goal in the return leg. His marking abilities were impeccable in this match that helped Goa to retain their lead and grip over the match.

Flops:

There are no flops to write about as all the players gave their ultimate best as Zico's boys were simply outstanding on the pitch yesterday.

Delhi Dynamos:

Heroes:

1) Toni Doblas: Although Delhi conceded three goals but if not for Doblas, they would have conceded 2-3 more goals. He saved atleast three sure shot goals and saved Delhi from furthur humiliation. On a night where everything went wrong for the Dynamos, Doblas was their last man standing.

2) Gustavo Dos Santos: Dos Santos tried to breach the Goan defence with his runs, pace and dribbling but unlike the previous match, a rock solid Goan defence thwarted each of his moves.

Zeroes:

1) Florent Malouda: The Frenchman was largely impactless as he could neither score a goal for his team, nor could he set it up for his teammates. On other days his performance makes a difference between the teams but Tuesday was just not his night.

2) Richard Gadze: The super sub from Ghana was introduced in the place of Adil Nabi in the hope he would score goals and put Delhi back in the game. Despite high expectations, Gadze failed to create any goals for himself.

3) Robin Singh: He scored the solitary goal in the previous match and a lot was expected from the Indian forward in this match too but Robin too could not cast any goal for his team.
