Kolkata, 21 October 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players Rahul Tripathi and Saurabh Dubey went pandal-hopping in Kolkata during Durga Pujo, as the three-time IPL champions marked the festival with fan events and community work.

The two players visited several pandals and took part in a series of fan engagements in the city.

Knights Care Station

KKR set up a Knights Care Station at the Bosepukur Sitala Mandir Pujo Pandal. Visitors could get free drinking water, basic first aid and phone charging, along with tissues and wet wipes.

Digital series

The franchise ran a digital series on eco-friendly Pujos, with each pandal explaining the materials and methods it used to cut waste. A second series, Shahoshi Ranis, featured women working in areas where women have traditionally been under-represented. An animated series, told as a grandmother narrating stories to her grandchildren, covered the legends behind Durga Puja.

Kantha artisans

Through its CSR work, KKR partnered with SHE Kantha to support traditional Kantha artisans. This included a KKR installation featuring the artisans’ work at Devi Durga: Threads of Divinity, the Indian Museum’s first Durga Puja pandal, which opened on 11 October, and a KKR Day with live Kantha workshops for fans.

“Durga Pujo is the heartbeat of Kolkata, and for KKR it was the one time of year when the city’s energy was felt everywhere,” said Binda Dey, the franchise’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We wanted to be part of Pujo the way our fans experience it, by being on the ground, together with them.”

KKR won the IPL in 2012, 2014 and 2024.
