Dubai, November 4: India’s T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has moved up two places to seventh in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings after his half-century against New Zealand in Hamilton. The latest weekly update is headed by Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who is back at No. 1 in the Test bowling rankings.

Iyer scored 50 in Hamilton. New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips, up 13 places to 24th, and Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, up 12 places to 41st, also made notable gains in the T20I list. Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai jumped 34 places to 59th after his 116 against Zimbabwe in Sharjah, an innings that rescued his side from five for four.

Among T20I bowlers, former No. 1 Jacob Duffy took four for 23 in Auckland and rose 23 places to 23rd.

Jadeja stays second among Test all-rounders

Ravindra Jadeja remains second in the Test all-rounders’ rankings. South Africa now have three players in the top five: top-ranked Marco Jansen, third-placed Wiaan Mulder and off-spinner Simon Harmer, who moved up three places to fifth. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan is fourth.

Starc back at No. 1

Starc took six for 72 and three for 65 in the third match of the ICC World Test Championship series in Cape Town. Australia lost by 176 runs and went down 2-1 in the series, but his haul was enough to displace Jansen, who had become the top-ranked Test bowler for the first time only a week earlier.

Harmer, Player of the Match in Cape Town, took his first 10-wicket haul in a Test and moved up nine places to seventh. His rating of 817 points is the second highest by a South Africa spinner, behind Hugh Tayfield’s 895 in February 1957.

The update also covers the first Test between Bangladesh and the West Indies in Dhaka. West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican took nine wickets in the match and was named Player of the Match after an eight-wicket win, moving up six places to 30th. Bangladesh’s Nayeem Hasan (47th) and Shoriful Islam (54th) and the West Indies’ Roston Chase (63rd) also moved up.

In the Test batting rankings, Mulder’s second-innings 115 lifted him seven places to a career-best 17th. Ryan Rickelton, who made 101, gained 25 places to 23rd. Marcques Ackerman’s scores of 95 and 62 took him up 129 places to 69th, and Bangladesh’s Shadman Islam moved from 67th to 63rd.

Smit draws level with Bumrah in ODIs

Namibia left-arm seamer JJ Smit climbed 44 places in the ODI bowling rankings and is now joint-30th with India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Smit took four wickets in each of the last two matches as Namibia beat Ireland 3-2 in Windhoek.

Among ODI batters, Fakhar Zaman’s match-winning 127 against Sri Lanka in the final of the Pakistan ODI Tri-Series in Lahore took him up nine places to 37th. Sri Lanka’s Pavan Rathnayake, who made 77 in the final after an earlier 118 against England, jumped 20 places to 16th.

England’s Ben Duckett reached a career-best sixth after his 167 off 132 balls against Sri Lanka, and Tom Banton entered the top 50 for the first time.
