Mumbai City FC have brought back India forward Farukh Choudhary on a deal that runs until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Farukh, who was born in Ambarnath, Maharashtra, played six matches for the Islanders in the 2020-21 Indian Super League season.

He then played for Jamshedpur FC and Chennaiyin FC. Across his ISL career he has made 126 appearances, with seven goals and 10 assists. He has 24 caps and three goals for India.

“I am happy to be back”

“Coming back to Mumbai City means a lot to me. I have had some really good memories here, and I am happy to be back with the club,” Farukh said.

“I am looking forward to the new season, working hard with the team and giving my best on the pitch. We have a strong squad and big ambitions, and I want to contribute as much as I can and help the team achieve its goals.”

Márquez wants attacking depth

Head coach Manolo Márquez said Farukh can play in all four attacking positions.

“Farukh is a player we know very well, and he has qualities that can be very useful for us. He can add something different in attack, as he can play across all four positions there,” Márquez said.

“We also believe he can add good competition and depth to the squad, and we are happy to have him back with us.”

Mumbai City won the ISL League and ISL Cup double in 2020-21, Farukh’s first season at the club. They also won the League Shield in 2022-23 and the ISL Cup in 2023-24.
