New Delhi: Rohit Sharma played a captain's knock (51 off 24 balls) and was ably supported by Dwayne Smith (48 off 25 balls) as Mumbai Indians got the better of Perth Scorchers by six wickets and 40 remaining to enter into the semi-final of Champions League T20 tournament here on Wednesday.
Chasing a winning target of 150, Mumbai lost the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar (0) at a score of 16. Glenn Maxwell followed the Master Blaster soon, leaving Mumbai two down for 34. Thereafter, Dyawne Smith was joined by skipper Rohit Sharma and the duo took the attack back to the opposition.
Rohit raced his way to an unbeaten 51 off 24 deliveries, while Smith smashed a 25-ball 48 at the top to enable MI achieve the target with as many as 40 balls to spare. Rohit smashed three boundaries and four sixes while putting on a solid 65-run stand for the fourth wicket with Kieron Pollard (23) off just 37 balls.
Earlier, some fine bowling by Nathan Coulter-Nile and Pragyan Ojha helped Mumbai restrict the Scorchers to 149 for six at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground.
The Scorchers reached 50 in the ninth over with all wickets intact. Pragyan Ojha gave MI the breakthrough by seeing off both the opening batsmen in his very first over. After being hit for a four off the first ball of the 10th over, he knocked off the stumps of Agar before bowling Katich with the fifth ball of the over.

Meanwhile, in the match of the day, Trinidad and Tobago thrashed Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets and 29 balls remaining at Feroz Shah Kotla ground on Wednesday.
