Pune Warriors lost their last five wickets for seven runs and made it look as if this was a one-sided contest for Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH bowled brilliantly as their all-rounder Thisara Perera picked up three wickets along with Ishant Sharma and Dale Steyn who picked up a wicket each in their four overs.
Earlier while batting, it was Debutant Biplab Samantray alongwith Amit Mishra who batted brilliantly and they scored 37 and 30 runs off 37 and 24 balls respectively.

T Suman and Steve Smith tried to rebuild the innings and were looking good at the crease. However Karan Sharma and Ishant Sharma got Suman and Smith out for 12 and 17 runs respectively.
Meanwhile Angelo Mathews and Mitchell Marsh started off cautiously were looking comfortable in the middle. But again some brilliant bowling by Steyn and Perera outdid the Pune batsmen. But with 14 runs needed in the last two overs, PWI were still having an upper hand but Mishra bowled a fabulous 19th over and picked up four wickets and gave away just two runs. However Biplab Samantray kept on scoring the runs from one end and was looking pretty confident in his approach. He kept on taking the singles to keep the scoreboard ticking. He found some good support in Amit Mishra from the other end as he was going for those big hits as they were very much needed at that point of time. Mishra stared dealing in boundaries and was fancying his chances every now and then. Samantray got out after scoring run-a-ball 37 runs but Mishra kept rotating the strikes with Ashish Reddy. Reddy started pushing Mishra for those crucial two’s in the end and he played a nice-little cameo of 19 runs off 15 balls. Mishra got out after scoring 30 off just 24 balls and SRH put on the board a low but a competitive total of 119 runs.
