New Delhi: World champion Vishwanathan Anand’s winless streak continued as he was held yet again in the 5th Final Masters in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday.
Anand playing in his first tournament since his World championship triumph four months back in May 2012 drew his fourth round outing against Sergey Karkajin.
The five times World champion is now fourth in the tournament with as many consecutive draw.
Meanwhile Italy's Fabiano Caruana continued to surge forward in the tournament and registered a win over Francisco Vallejo Pons.
He is now leading the points table with 10 points and is trailed by Levon Aronian of Armenia. Aronian has six points from four outings.
Magnus Carlsen is on the third spot followed closely by Anand with four points.
Karjakin and Vallejo Pons were tied fifth with two points each.
Anand will now take on Carlsen in the final round in Brazil.
