Anand’s defensive skills were tested in the match and it required some great defensive strategu for the Indian to be able to force a draw.

All the matches of the day ended in a draw as Levon Aronian was held by Francisco Vallejo Pons of Spain while Norwegian world number one Magnus Carlsen drew Sergey Karjakin of Ukraine.
After the day’s play, results remain unchanged as Caruana continues lead with seven points and Aronian on second with five points.
Carslen is on the third position with four points whereas Anand with three points from three games is at the fourth spot with Vallejo Pons in fifth spot.
Karjakin stays at the bottom of the tables with just one draw.
