Slovak world No.6 Dominika Cibulkova fell to Canada's Eugenie Bouchard 4-6, 3-6, reports Efe.
Russian world No.9 Svetlana Kuznetsova also lost to compatriot Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 5-7, 3-6.
Meanwhile, British Johanna Konta won against Australian Daria Gavrilova 6-1, 6-3, and Danish Caroline Wozniacki defeated Kazakh Yulia Putintseva 6-0, 7-5.

Czech Barbora Strycova defeated Italy's Roberta Vinci 6-2, 6-3, Chinese Ying-Ying Duan defeated United States Coco Vandeweghe 3-6, 6-2, and Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska defeated United States' Christina McHale 7-6 (1), 6-1.
