Greater Noida, 10 October 2026: Shubhankar Sharma closed with a three-under-par 69 to win the Kapil Dev Invitational Tour Championship by six shots at the Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort on Saturday.

The 30-year-old from Chandigarh, who started the final round two shots clear, made an eagle on the par-five 12th, three birdies and two bogeys to finish at 14-under 274 (68-65-72-69) in the INR 2 crore event.

It was Shubhankar’s second win in as many starts on the DP World PGTI this season. His first came at the Boulders Classic in April, which ended an eight-year wait for a professional title. The two-time DP World Tour winner collected INR 30 lakh.

The putt that settled it

Shubhankar opened with three early birdies but dropped a couple of shots in the middle of the round as Michele Ortolani closed in. A bogey on the 10th made it tighter still.

“I expected the lead to narrow unless I made a very fast start,” Shubhankar said.

The answer came on the par-five 12th, where he holed a putt of roughly 60 to 70 feet for eagle in gusty conditions. From there he relied on his short game to protect the lead over the closing holes, with difficult flag positions and a strong wind making the last stretch hard work despite the final margin.

Manoj books his place in Delhi

Italy’s Michele Ortolani (72-70-65-73) and Bengaluru’s Manoj S (70-71-66-73) shared second place at eight-under 280.

For Manoj, the finish meant much more than a cheque. His INR 16 lakh took his season’s earnings to INR 35,92,684 and lifted him from 26th to 17th in the Race to DP World India Championship, which secured his place at next week’s DP World India Championship.

Bengaluru’s Khalin Joshi (72-67-71-71), a four-time winner on the tour this season, finished fourth at seven-under 281. He earned INR 9,99,600 and stayed second in the Race with INR 77,33,825.

Gurugram’s Harman Sachdeva (74-70-67-71) and Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Sandhu (71-69-69-73), the 2025 DP World PGTI Order of Merit champion, tied for fifth at six-under 282.

Talwar stays on top of the Race

Saptak Talwar (75-72-72-70) shot his only under-par round of the week on Saturday, climbing from tied 25th to tied 16th at one-over 289. He earned INR 2,86,733 and kept first place in the Race to DP World India Championship with INR 99,69,017.

Viraj Madappa was 24th in the standings at the end of the week with INR 24,90,042, making him the last player to qualify for the DP World India Championship through the Race.

Mrs Romi Dev presented the prizes at the closing ceremony.

Next stop Delhi Golf Club

Shubhankar now leads the Indian contingent into the US$4 million DP World India Championship, the DP World PGTI’s flagship event, which is co-sanctioned with the DP World Tour and starts at Delhi Golf Club on 15 October.

“The DP World Tour has been my home for the past nine years, so I’m looking forward to welcoming many of my friends to India,” he said.

The DP World PGTI Order of Merit, which carries a DP World Tour card for the winner, will be decided at the end of that event. Read the third-round report.
