Warsaw: Poland will beat leaders Russia in their Euro 2012 Group A clash on Tuesday, at least according to Citta, a fortune-tellng elephant, local Polish radio reported Monday.
The Russians demolished the Czech Republic 4-1 in their Friday opener, whereas the Poles could only draw 1-1 against Greece. Citta, a 33-year-old elephant who lives at Krakow Zoo, selected a melon symbolizing a Polish victory, rejecting others representing a Russian win or a draw in the coming match in Warsaw.
She beat out competition from a parrot and a donkey to get the job as Euro 2012 fortune-teller by correctly predicting Chelsea's victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final, but got off to a bad start, wrongfully prophesying a Polish win over the Greeks.
Zoo officials are organising a show for Citta to predict the winner of every match featuring Poland, and all the games in the knockout stage of the tournament.
