New Delhi: The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Jitendra Singh, on Tuesday launched the revamped website of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS). The Secretary, Youth Affairs Rajeev Gupta and senior office bearers of NYKS were present on the occasion. Launching the revamped website, the Minister said, it has been revamped with a view to promote e-governance, maintain transparency, promote partnership of young people in NYKS programmes and activities and also provide the youth with a platform to give their valuable inputs for further improvements.
The new website of NYKS is youth friendly and dynamic in nature. It provides access to youth through Blog, Facebook and Twitter. The activities are further reflected through News and Success Stories and live connectivity with You-Tube. The website provides detailed information on NYKS Core Programmes, Projects, Schemes, National Youth Corps etc. It gives in-depth information on its Annual Action Plan 2013-14, the number and types of Core Programmes allocated to each State and District NYKS across the country.
The website has provision for online reporting of activities, monitoring and feedback at different levels. It has been linked with Google Earth Map whereby each of the 28 State level and 623 district level NYKS offices as well as 2.62 lakh Youth Clubs of NYKS have been linked. One can view the complete details of youth clubs across the country, profiles of 10641 National Youth Core Volunteers and details of programs to be held in each district throughout the year.
NYKS in 25th year of its formation has given a platform to every youth/Youth Club interested in doing voluntarily work for national development. Joining NYKS has become very simple; it can be done online/off line in time bound manner. A Youth Club can get affiliated online with 7 days if it is registered under Societies Registration or corresponding State Act or within 30 days if not registered under any of the mentioned Acts.
