Saroj Khosla stars in chess tournament

Chandigarh: Saroj Khosla was declared winner in three days All India Defence Accounts Department Chess Tournament (DAD). The Chess Tournament was held at the office of Principal Controller of Defense Accounts (PCDA), Western Command, Sector 9.

 

31 players including 24 men and 7 women from Defence Accounts Department (DAD) in the country participated in the competition. The men category consists of six rounds. On day one, there were two rounds, on second day, there will be three rounds and on the final day there will be one round. One round daily has been fixed for women.

FIDE (World Chess Federation, Russia) laws of chess and FIDE Swiss system are being followed there in the tournament. It is worth mentioning that Jitendra Joshi of CGDA, New Delhi, is also taking part in the tournament who has FIDE rating of 1952 and AS Mandal of PCA, (factories) Kolkatta, has FIDE rating of 1733.
