Chandigarh:  Due to the changes in the demand notice for inviting tender, the new Astroturf for Hockey Stadium has been delayed. According to JPS Sidhu, joint director sports, the new Astroturf was expected to be furnished by the end of the previous year, certain changes in DNIT led to a delay in the purchasing process.

The new Astroturf will be of uniform color. The technical committee has approved the need for a synthetic turf. The sprinkling system will also be upgraded and three more synthetic layers will also be purchased.
