New Delhi: Former Delhi footballer Muni Lal passed away following a massive heart attack on Wednesday. He was 61 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Lal started his career as a midfielder with leading club Simla Youngs in 1970. He also played for City Club in 1980. He represented Delhi in the Santosh Trophy from 1972 to 1977.
Lal was employed with the Delhi Electricity Supply Undertaking (DESU) and was a member of the DESU football team from 1974 to 1990.
He was cremated at the Kalkaji cremation ground on Thursday. The Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) expressed condolences over Lal's death.
