Patiala: Punjabi University, Patiala emerged as the overall team champion in the 72nd all-India inter-university athletics championship that concluded at Moodabidri on Wednesday. Punjabi University also secured the title in the men's segment while University of Calicut topped the women's section.
The final day witnessed three meet records as Suresh Kumar (Punjabi) won the half-marathon at 1:03:58.26s, Harvendra Singh (VBSP, Jaunpur) clinched gold in hammer throw at 66.59m and Sabeena (Mangalore) excelled in the women's half-marathon while clocking 1:14:30.39s.
