Panchkula: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the state government was considering to introduce “Right to Play” according to which access to optimum physical activity through sports would be ensured as a matter of right.
Hooda announced this while interacting with players and mediapersons at the sports complex in Sector 3 during the second round of Sports and Physical Aptitude Test (SPAT)-2012.
As many as 4 lakh players registered online in the first round of SPAT-2012, out of which 2 lakh qualified for the second round. The third and final round of the programme will be held from January 20, 2012, to January 25, 2012. Under the programme, 5,000 participants will be selected in which players aged between 8 and 14 will be given a scholarship of Rs 1,500 per month and players in the 15 to 19 age group will be given a scholarship of Rs 2,000 per month.
The Chief Minister said Haryana Premier League would be held in the state soon and various competitions would be organised during the league.
