Chandigarh: Defending champions of St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, after displaying a skill and match temperament, bagged the Chandigarh Sub-Junior Football Tournament, at St Kabir School, Sector 26, here today.


In the final match of the tourney, St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, defeated host St Kabir School vie a tie-breaker after a goalless draw in the stipulated period.


Both the teams failed to score even in the allotted extra time but the winning side named the match by 4-2 in decider penalties.
Notably, the school has bagged the title for the seventh consecutive time.
For winning side, Shaiza converted first spot kick while Arjit doubled the lead with Akshit and Jashandeep Singh contributing in the win. Peanjal Kaura and Akash scored for St Kabir’s team.
