Kolkata: Unseeded P.C. Vignesh of India ousted second-seeded V.M. Ranjeet 7-6(5), 2-6, 6-0 in the pre-quarterfinals of the $10000 ITF men's Futures tennis tournament here at the JMTA complex on Wednesday.

Vignesh, who matched his best performance in the ITF tournaments this season by reaching the quarterfinals, showed good court craft to blunt the attack of Ranjeet.

Vignesh set up a quarterfinal clash against another giant-killer Sriram Balaji. Balaji got the better of eighth-seeded R. Ramkumar 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.

Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan easily downed fifth-seeded Kaza Vinayak Sharma 6-2, 6-1.
