Mumbai: Jiwaji University won the deciding doubles tie against Saurashtra University to enter the second round of the West Zone Inter-University Tennis Championship, organised by HR College Sports Council, at the MSLTA, Cooperage on Tuesday.

Yash Sharma won the opening singles tie against Akash Mehta to give No. 7 seeds Jiwaji the lead before Kiran Ghodasane levelled for Saurashtra after snatching the second singles against Sonu Kumar. But Sharma and Kumar surged to a substantial lead to beat Burhan Kapasi and Akash Mehta 9-3 in the deciding doubles.
