Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Police Football Club got the better of YFC, Rurka Kalan, in the senior category, while Ajit Karam Singh Public School (AKSIPS), Sector 41, overcame Moti Ram Arya Senior Secondary School in the match of the junior category during the ongoing 6th Kanwar Harbans Lal Memorial Football Tournament being held at the Football Stadium, Sector 17, here today.

In the first match of the senior category, the visiting team of Rurka Kalan went down against Chandigarh Police team, captained by Munish Kumar by 1-0.

After a goal-less first half, Gagandeep put Chandigarh team in the driver’s seat in the 58th minute of the game. Kamalpreet Singh of Youth Football Club, Rurka Kalan, was declared man of the match. In the match of the junior section, Ajit Karam Singh School, Sector 41, defeated Moti Ram Arya Senior Secondary School by 2-0. Mohit of Ajit Karam Singh School opened the account in the 30th minute, while Mohit doubled the lead in the 32nd minute. Karan Dadhwal of Moti Ram Arya Senior Secondary School was declared man of the match.
