Chennai: Defending champion Southern Railway posted a 3-1 win over Tamil Nadu Police in the IOB-Chennai Hockey Association super six senior division league championship at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Friday.

This was Railways' third straight victory. However, for a team aspiring to retain the crown, it was a sub-standard show. The frontline wasn't working to its fullest potential. Thanks to a sturdy defence, Railways managed to keep TNP at bay. Railways went ahead in the 19th minute when Diwakaran's timely deflection off a penalty corner conversion found the net.
