Thrissur: The second day of the State schools aquatics championship on Tuesday saw six new meet records. The day's stars were Thiruvananthapuram's S. Arathy and Ernakulam's R.S. Vaishnav, who created two records apiece.

Arathy's exploits came in the junior girls' 50m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke, while Vaishnav records were in the sub-junior boys' 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke.

The day's other records were sunk by Jomy George of Thrissur (sub-junior girls' 200m freestyle) and V. Turbu of Ernakulam (senior boys' 200m backstroke). It was the second record of the meet for Turbu, who had set a record in the 100m backstroke.
