Chandigarh: Greenways School, Morinda (Punjab) booked their place in the final of the girls' section of the CBSE Cluster XIII volleyball tournament at St Soldier International School, Sector 28, Chandigarh on Wednesday. They defeated DAV School, Sector 15, 2-0 (25-12, 2520) in the semifinal of the event.
Earlier also, the Greenways girls had an easy outing in their quarterfinal match as they had beat Eicher Public School, Parwanoo, 2-0 (25-14, 25-16).

On the other hand, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula, had to sweat it out before humbling DAV Senior Secondary School, Sawra (Himachal Pradesh) 2-1. The Bhavan Vidyalaya team lost the first game 20-25, but came back strongly to win the next two games 25-19 and 25-22. Local Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Sector 30, also stormed into the semifinals from pool A by defeating Bhavan Vidyalaya-15, 2-0 (2510, 25-16). From pool B, Kasauli International Public School, Solan, and GAV Public School, Kangra, advanced to the last four-stage by ousting their rivals.

In boys' quarterfinal match of Pool A, Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Sector 30, blanked Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, 2-0 (25-10, 25-16). In the Pool B match of the same category, Kasauli International Public School got the better of Lawrence Public Senior Secondary School, SAS Nagar, with the identical 2-0 (25-19, 2516) verdict.
