Chandigarh: Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 36, thrashed St Stephen's School, Sector 45, 5-0 to lift the Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy played at the Sector 17 stadium on Tuesday.
The GMHS-36 team, studded with the trainees of Chandigarh Football Academy, Sector 42, enjoyed the territorial supremacy through out the contest. They made an early inroad into St Stephen's defence with K Lalramzauva guiding the ball past the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the play.
It was followed by some superb legwork by Samuel as he made twin strikes in 23rd and 27th minutes of the match to make the scoreline 3-0.
The very next minute, Lalramzauva found the target to establish a commanding 4-0 lead at the half time.
In the second half, the GMHS-36 boys played a relaxed game with Francis Ramdin rounding off the winners' tally by scoring the last goal of the match in the 48th minute.
