Chandigarh: Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 36, will face St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, in the title clash of the ongoing Chandigarh Sub-Junior (Boys) Championship for Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy, at Football Stadium, Sector 17, tomorrow.

In the semi-final matches held here today Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 36, defeated St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, by tan undefeatable margin of 13-0 while St Stephen’s school defeated St John’s School, Sector 26, by 2-0.

Stephen’s had to wait for 35 minutes to score their first goal. Chirag initiated the move as his shot travelled to Suresh after hitting a St John’s defender. Suresh capitalized on the rebound to give his team the lead.

St Stephen’s School confirmed the lead in the 55th minute. Speedy Rishab Vashisht floated a centre from the right flank to Chirag who trapped it and passed the ball to Anirudh who did not make any mistake to score from close and sealed the fate of St John’s in the tournament.

For Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 36, team Ramdinn (39th, 41st and 49th), Daniel (12th, 15th), Lalramzauva (13th, 41st), Samuel (23rd, 34th), Nishu (37th, 48th, 55th ) and Mohit (53rd) were the goal-getters while for Stephen’s team Anirudh and Suresh ensured the team’s win.
