Chandigarh: The girls of MCM DAV College, Sector 36, bagged the inter-college badminton championship (A-Division) by defeating hosts Panjab University team 2-1 here on Thursday.

In their opening match with Jyoti losing her singles match against Anubhi 2-1.Jyoti, however, made up for the loss as she teamed up well with Daksha to blank the GauriAnubhi pair 2-0. In the decider, Daksha got the better of her nerves to pip Gauri 2-1.

In the match for the third place, AS College for Women, Khanna, outplayed GGS College (W), Sector 26, 2-0.
