New Delhi: Sain Dass AS Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar beat CRZ Senior Secondary School, Sonepat 3-2 in a closely contested match to win the final of 45th Nehru Junior Hockey Tournament played at Shivaji Stadium in New Delhi, on Monday.
Sain Dass AS Senior Secondary School Jalandhar scored goals in the 9th , 26th, and 48th minutes of the match. The goal scorers for Jalandhar school were Karajwinder, Dilpreet and Simranjeet, respectively, while CRZ Senior Secondary School Sonepat could score two goals through Sudharshan and Mahipal in the 12th and 65th minutes.
The winning team were awarded Rs 96000 while the runners-up team were awarded Rs 64000.
Dilakpreet Singh of Jalandhar was adjudged man of the match and was awarded Rs 11000.
Avtar Singh, Coach of Sain Dass AS Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar was awarded Rs 8000, while Jitender Dahiya, Coach of CRZ Senior Secondary School Sonepat was awarded Rs 5000.
