New Delhi: Kiran Sharma (47 points), won the first Amity Golf Tournament 2015 played at Delhi Golf Club, here on Friday, while Capt J P Chowdhury with 42 points came second.
Col. J P S Paintal (42 points) was declared the second runners’ up, while Rakesh Sudan won the closest to the pin award. The longest drive award was won by Sandy Kashyap.
As many as 96 golfers participated in the first Amity Golf Tournament 2015 on a chilly winter morning at Delhi Golf Club and their love for the sport warmed up the bonhomie amongst them. The golfers comprised leaders from Industry, corporate world, bureaucrats, diplomats and innovators.
The 18-hole tournament was played using the Stable Ford scoring system and 25 four balls were played during the Tournament. Hundreds of avid golf fans watched the game from the sidelines, occasionally cheering for their favorite players. The Tournament was keenly contested as can be seen from the scores.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group said, “Amity believes in promoting and supporting various sports in the country. He asserted that Amity Golf Tournament provided a golden opportunity to golfers from different walks of life to play and share their ideas during the course of the tournament.”
Dr Chauhan remarked that golf was a very interesting Sport which nurtured unique qualities and abilities in golfers, making them fly high in respective professions. He announced that Amity would host golf tournament every year and even the offshore campuses would host golf tournaments in future to help groom students with corporate leaders and stalwarts of the Industry.
