Mohali: The last league match of Katoch Shield between Mohali and Chandigarh ended in a draw with Chandigarh notching 3 points for their first innings lead while Mohali got one. Chandigarh declared their first innings at the overnight score of 412 for 7 taking a first innings lead of 80 runs.

Mohali in their second innings were bowled out for 236 in 69.3 overs. Mohali innings was sustained by a brilliant century by Mayank Sidana (139) off 176 balls inclusive of 10 boundaries and 5 huge sixes. This was Mayank Sidana’s second century of the match.

For Chandigarh Gaurav Gambhir 5 for 75, Arpit Singh 2 for 46 and Gurinder Singh 2 for 76 were the main wicket takers.

Chandigarh were given a stiff target of 149 in 23 overs. They were 67 for 4 in 11.2 overs when showers and bad light brought play to a halt. Arjit Singh 27 and Gaurav Puri not out 28 were the main run getters for Chandigarh. Maninder Singh 2 for 29 and Barinder Singh 2 for 28 were the main wicket takers for Mohali.

Patiala and Chandigarh finished the league on 17 points each but Patiala pipped Chandigarh to the post having recording two outright wins to Chandigarh’s one.

Patiala however lost the race in FC Mittal trophy to Ludhiana on net run rate as Ludhiana and Patiala ended up on 18 points each.
