New Delhi: In a group- A preliminary league among two giants -- defending champions Indian National FC and Hindustan FC played on Saturday in the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA ) Annual Senior Division Open Clubs Football League championship being held at Dr Ambedkar Stadium, Indian National FC managed to beat Hindustan FC (1-0) to collect three crucial points to remain in contention for super league qualification.

At break, National led 1 - 0 through Nigerian recruit Usani off a cross from Kamal Rawat. On changing ends, Hindustan had an edge over their rivals but forwards muffed many easy chances from close due to erratic finishing.

In group- B preliminary match played earlier, Delhi United Football Club scored a 2 - 1 victory over spirited Ahbab Football Club to earn three vital points.
