Dhruve Pandove Trophy: Jalandhar take vital first innings lead against Amritsar

Jalandhar: On the second day of their semi-final match being played at F.C. Sondhi Ground Jalandhar, Jalandhar resuming at 17 for no loss could muster 269 runs before being bowled out for 100.4 overs and in the process established a 50 runs lead in the first innings.

Jalandhar openers Mansab Gill and Rajat Sharma put on 84 runs for the first wicket before Mansab Gill was caught by Karan off Rohit for 35 off 95 balls, inclusive of four boundaries. Rajat Sharma also departed on the same score after being cleaned up by Shivam Sharma Sr. for 45 off 100 balls, inclusive of eight boundaries.

Arjun Verma (51 off 137 balls) with six boundaries , Vikram Singh (39 off 110 balls) with five boundaries and two sixes and Ramandeep 28 off 34 balls with five boundaries were the other contributors with the bat for Jalandhar.

For Amritsar Rohit Kumar (4 for 67) and Shivam Sharma Sr. (3 for 88) were the main wicket takers.
