New Delhi: Solutrean-Bonjour-Hindustan FC kick started their Delhi Senior Division Super League with a bang, defeating arch rivals Delhi United FC 2-1, in a fierce encounter at the Ambedkar Stadium on Tuesday.
Nigerian strike force, O.O. Sola, who came back from injury was the architect behind HFC's victory as he pumped in two goals in the 56th minute and 73rd minute.
United pulled back one in the 84th minute, when A.Feni successfully converted from the spot, following a fault by a Hindustan defender.
DUFC tried hard their after to find the equalizer but HFC's players successfully thwart their attacked, with the goalkeeper making some brilliant saves.
The first half show a fierce battle between the two side, with both trying to get the upper-hand. O.O. Sola nearly gave HFC the lead in the 35th minute, when his slow chip bounced back after hitting the near post.
The Nigerian has himself to blame for missing the hat-trick as he squandered two easy chances when he had only the goalkeeper to beat.
Hindustan FC now have 3 points. And they next play Tarun Sangha on Wednesday in a 12:30 PM kick-off.
