Shivam’s Half-Century Steers St. Marks Public School to Next Round; Tarun Brings Victory for Mt. Abu Public School

New Delhi: Shivam’s brilliant half-century helped St. Mark's Senior Secondary Public School, Janak Puri beat St. Cecilia's Public School, Vikas Puri by nine wickets in a Group F match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup under-16 inter-school tournament, played at Police Line ground today.


St. Cecilia's Public School won the toss and batted first. They scored 121 runs after losing eight wickets with the help of Siddharth Narula’s spectacular 53-run knock. For St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Vasu and Nishchay claimed three and two wickets respectively.


While chasing, St. Mark's Public School achieved the target in just 18.5 overs. Shivam led the batting line-up with his blistering 62-run knock. He and Nayan, who scored useful 35, remained unbeaten and won the match by nine wickets.

Shivam was adjudged Man-of-the Match for his batting performance.

Match 2: In another league match in Group D, Mount Abu Public School, Rohini Sector 5 defeated St. Mark's Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh by seven wickets, played at Vikas Puri ground today.


St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the whole team was bowled-out at a meagre score of 68 runs. Mount Abu Public School’s Ghanisht Singh spearheaded the bowling attack with his three-wicket haul. He was well-supported by Tarun Gupta and Rahul Bhati, who claimed two wickets each, and helped their team to bundle-out the opponent in 24.5 overs.


Batting second, Mt. Abu Public School achieved the target after losing three wickets. All-rounder Tarun led the batting line-up with his 23-run knock and won the match in 23 overs.


Tarun was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his all-round performance.
