Hindustan FC Spilt Points With Goodwill FC

New Delhi: Solutrean-Bonjour-Hindustan Football Club continued their unbeaten run in the Delhi Senior Division League, having registered a 1-1 draw against Goodwill FC in their 5th match played at the CWG Sports Complex in Akshardham on Sunday.

Hindustan FC would consider themselves unlucky as they conceded a penalty in the dying minutes of the game allowing Goodwill to level the score.

Jersey No 10, Mehraj scored the all important goal for the former champions in the 35th minute when he deflected in a Rishi Kapoor's freekick beyond the reach of the diving Goodwill goalkeeper.

In what was touted as 'One of the best' encounter in the ongoing Delhi Senior Division League, both the teams pressed hard to get the elusive lead. Hindustan FC, without their lethal striker O.O. Sola, found it hard to breached the Goodwill defence, who on the other hand were playing with two solid African recruits.

But they soon settled down and get their task going with former Mohun Bagan skipper Rishi Kapoor leading from the front. He marshalled the midfield and created host of chances for the forwards.

Goodwill also pressed hard, looking for the elusive goal and their hard work paid off when a scuffle inside the box resulted in a HFC defender handling the ball. The ensuing penalty was converted successfully to split points.

Hindustan FC have gathered 11 points, courtesy of the three victories and two draws. They next play National United Sporting Club on Tuesday, 7th January in a 2:45 PM kick off.
