Dindigul: Punjab –A played against Tamil Nadu – A in Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy at Dindigul restricted Tamil Nadu-A to 228 for 4 in 90 overs at close of first days play of their four days match.

Tamil Nadu – A won the toss and elected to bat. Punjab – A medium pacer Jaskaran Singh struck a blow on the 2nd ball of his opening over as he trapped opener Bharat Shankar in front of the wicket before the batsman could open his account.

Thereafter V.Gangaraju and M.K.Gandhi put on 48 runs for the 2nd wicket before Jaskaran Singh cleaned him up for 20. After this MK.Gandhi and B.Indrajith put on 150 runs for the 3rd wicket before M.K.Gandhi was clean bowled by Sharad Lumba for 70 off 215 balls inclusive of 6 boundaries.

B.Indrajith went on to complete his century (102) off 198 balls inclusive of 13 boundaries before B.Indrajith was caught by wicket keeper Gitansh Khera off medium pacer Deepak Bansal. Jaskaran singh 2 for 37 Deepak Bansal 1 for 31 and Sharad Lumba 1 for 45 were the most successful bowlers for Punjab –A.
