Dindigul: Punjab –A were in sight of 1st Innings Lead against Tamil Nadu-A on the 3rd day of their Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy match being played at Dindigul on Wednesday.
Resuming at overnight 66 for 1 in 27 overs Punjab-A opener Manan Vohra struck a brilliant century (123) off 201 balls studded with 13 boundaries and four sixes.
Manan Vohra was involved in a 3rd wicket stand of 44 runs with Kunwar Rain 12. Manan Vohra was also involved in a 4th wicket stand of 87 runs with Sharad Lumba 44. Manan was caught by M.Mohd. off M.Ashwin when the teams total was 223.
Thereafter Gitansh Khera unbeaten 54 off 117 balls with five boundaries and one six and Himanshu Chawla 85 not out off 98 balls with 10 boundaries put on 121 runs for their unfinished 7th wicket stand. Punjab were 374 for 6 in 117 overs at close of 3rd days play and are all set to take the vital first innings lead on the last day.
