Bangalore: Hitesh N Joshi, father of the rising star Khalin Joshi, is confident to produce a good show at the Mulberry Woods KGA Club qualifier of Toyota IGU National Club Challenge tomorrow. Scratch golfer Joshi who is also a captain of the KGA will play in the 0-6 handicap category, while around 200 members above the age of 18 (Men & Ladies) will participate in five handicap categories which are 0-6, 7-10, 11-15, 16-20 and 21-24.
The individual winner in each Handicap category will automatically be selected to represent the club team while the 6th team member and captain of the team will be nominated by the club.
The team thus selected go to the 2nd stage, where the South Zone Finals will take place at Eagleton Golf Resort, Bangalore on January 18, 2013. At the 18 hole Zonal finals, the best five 18 hole total stableford scores of the six players will make the team score and the top two teams from each of four Zonal Finals will qualify for the 3rd stage – the National Finals.
The Club qualifiers, Zonal Finals and National Finals will be played in individual Stableford off 3/4th handicap allowance.
As one of the largest national championships by Indian Golf Union, the inaugural edition of the Toyota IGU National Club Challenge is involving around 5000 golfers from 25 key clubs across the country.
