PCC defeated MPCA by five wickets in the JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament here on Monday.
Winning the toss and opting to bat, MPCA were restricted to 213 for 8 in 50 overs. Opener A.Samad (79 off 105 balls with 5 boundaries) was the highest run getter for MPCA. The other contribution came from Sanjay Mishra (32) and Ankit Sharma (25).
For Punjab Sandeep Sharma , Siddharth Kaul and Taruwar Kohli scalped two wickets each.
Replying, PCC scored 217 for 5 in 39.4 overs to win the match by five wickets and garnered five points including a bonus while MPCA got (-01 points). Taruwar Kohli Kohli with an unbeaten 76 off 97 balls including seven boundaries won the man of the match award. He was involved in a 95-run fourth wicket partnership with Sharad Lumba (47).
Another fruitful partnership for the fifth wicket between Gurkirat Mann (33) and Sharad Lumba realized (52 runs).
Vijit Rana 2 for 36 was the most successful bowler for MPCA.
