Mohali: PCC steamrolled State Bank of Mysore, Bangalore by 163 runs in the JP Atray Memorial cricket tournament at PCA Stadium, Mohali on Friday.
Put into bat by State Bank of Mysore, PCC opened with Jeevanjot Singh and Manan Vohra, who added 66 runs for the first wicket in 14.2 overs before Manan Vohra was caught at deep mid off by Arvind off Katti for 24 off 45 balls inclusive of three boundaries.
Thereafter Jeevanjot Singh was joined by Ravi Inder Singh and the duo put on 95 runs for the second wicket before Jeevanjot was stumped by Avinash off Nurudeen five short of his hundred. He scored 95 runs at a quick pace in just 90 balls inclusive of nine boundaries.
Ravi Inder Singh then found an able partner in Gitansh Khera and the two put on 71 runs for the 6th wicket off 53 balls. Ravi Inder went on to complete a run a ball hundred (113) off 102 balls embellished with six boundaries and three huge sixes.
Punjab innings ended at 309 for 7 in 50 overs. S. Arvind who was the highest wicket taker for State Bank of Mysore was carted for 27 runs in his last over by Ravi Inder and Rahul Sharma who hit two sixes each of the bowler’s last over.
Replying, State Bank of Mysore opened with Mayank Aggarwal and K.C. Avinash who put on 58 runs for the first wicket before Mayank Aggarwal was caught by Rahul Sharma off Siddharth Kaul for 31. K. Abbas 37 and Pawan Deshpande 30 were the other contributors with the bat. State Bank of Mysore at one stage were 135 for 4 but thereafter they lost their plot and were restricted to 146 for 9 in 31 overs as Anand Katti could not bat because of injury.
Rahul Sharma 4 for 26 and Rajwinder Gollu 3 for 20 did most the damage for Punjab.
Ravi Inder Singh of PCC was declared man of the match.
