Punjab in sight of victory in U-19 Dhruv Pandove Trophy

Patiala: Resuming at 105 for 2 in 31 overs, Rajasthan in their 2nd innings ended the 3rd day's play at 225 for 5 in 65.5 overs here on Saturday.

Early morning rain kept on disrupting play on several occasions and only 35 overs play was possible during the day. Rajat Chhaparwal 85 and and Yash Kothari 77 were involved in a 128 runs stand for the 3rd wicket before Yash Kothari was caught by Anmolpreet Singh off Siddharth Sharma. His innings of 77 came off 167 balls and was studded with 12 boundaries.

Rajat Chhapparwal, who was stroking the ball well, was brilliantly run out by Harsrup singh after he had compiled 85 runs off 162 runs inclusive of 7 boundaries.

Rajasthan lost their last two wickets through run outs which reduced them to 225 for 5 from a healthy 204 for 3.

For Punjab Siddharth Sharma 2 for 110 and Karan Kaila 1 for 47 were the main wicket takers.
