New Delhi: Delhi Students FC, Rohini FC and Frontier FC registered victories to earn three full points in group- III preliminary matches of ' A ' division league matches of DLF - ONGC Delhi Soccer Annual Football League Championship - 2013 which commenced at CWG Village Sports Complex, Akshardham here on Sunday.

In inaugural match of the championship, newly promoted Delhi Students Football Club scored a 1- 0 upset victory over former champions- New Delhi Heroes FC to earn three points.

In an an equally exchanged encounter, Delhi Students took an early match winning goal when inside-left Jeevan Geroge struck 1 - 0 in 3rd mintue of the initial half proceedings off a defensive lapse. ND Heroes lads mounted heavy pressure against their spirited opponents but failed to avail the goal- scoring opportunities came in their way in the fag end of the match. Rizwan Khan ( J. No.10 ) of Delhi Students FC received yellow card following an infringment.

Later, in another match of group- III, another newly promoted Victory Football Club came from behind to hold mighty Moonlight FC 1 - 1 to share equal points. Moonlight took 1 - 0 victory in 11th mintue through out-side left Ashish Dhayia while Victory equalised 1 - 1 in 13th mintue through Sanjay. Both teams earned one point each.

In group- III also, Rohini FC scored a 2 - 1 victory over Delhi Cantt. FC to collect three points. Former international Bhupinder Rawat put Rohini FC 1 - 0 ahead in 4th mintue. Delhi Cantt. levelled score 1 - 1 in 41st mintue through north- east recruit Althongs Abraham. Sorabh scored 2 - 1 winning goal in 63rd mintue.

In group - III, Frontier Football Club scored a 5 - 2 thumping win over Ajmal FC to gain three points. The highlight of this match was a fine three goal scoring by Frontier's inside- left Kartihik who scored in 2nd, 9th and 30th mintue while Nam Dayal Dorji and Noel scored one goal each in 19th and 59th mintue, to make 1 - 5 tally. Ajmal's Arjun and Sarwan Nayyar reduced margin 2 - 5 in 24th and 67th mintue.

In last match of group- !, Garhwal Diamond FC drew with Uttrakhand FC 1 - 1 in group - i to share equal points.. Garhwal Diamond's Harish Negi in the 11 th mintue.while Nishant equalised in 55th mintue. for Uttrakhand FC.
