Mohali: The Executive Committee of Punjab Cricket Association met under the presidentship of I.S. Bindra, President at Dhruv Pandove Conference Hall, PCA Stadium, Mohali on Wednesday.

At the outset Bindra condoled the death of late Desh Prem Azad, the noted cricket coach and Director PCA Non Residential Cricket Academy and members stood in silence for a minute as a mark of respect to the departed soul. Thereafter, honorary secretary, M.P. Pandove got the minutes of the last executive committee dated August 4,2013 confirmed. He also apprised the members about the last minute shifting of Champions League T-20 tournament matches to Mohali at the request of BCCI. PCA will be hosting eight matches of the tournament.

It was decided to request S.Sukhbir Singh Badal, Dy. Chief Minister Punjab to be the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the India vs Australia One Day (D/N) International match to be held on October 19,2013 at PCA Cricket Stadium Mohali.

The Honorary Secretary informed that the efforts were being made for starting the construction of the boundary wall of the PCA’s New Cricket Stadium at Mullanpur (New Chandigarh) at the earliest and thereafter the PCA would go ahead with the construction cricket grounds before undertaking other construction activities.
