Chandigarh: Star-studded AIFF Academy from Mumbai squeezed Sambalpur Football Academy from Odisha by the huge margin of 7-0 here on Monday.
AIFF lads were in full swing right from the word go. They exhibited high standard football and toyed their rivals almost for entire duration . Suman opened the account for AIFF in the 17th minute of play. Second goal was scored by Bidyananda in 29th minute of play while the third goal was scored by Milan in the 37 minute of play. The winner’s led by 3-0 by the end of first half.
After the interval, Rakesh scored two goals in the 64th and 66th minute of play. Moinudin and Delbert scored one goal each in the 75th and 82nd minute of play to make it 7-0.
In the second match of the day played at Sector 42- Sports Complex, Mahilpur Football Academy edged past G.T.C Shillong by the margin of 2-0. Both the teams played contrast style games. Mahilpur played with long high passes, whereas GTC lads played with short passes. Both the teams tried to score the goal but their attempts were foiled by the defence lines of each other.. Both the teams were locked at the score of 0-0 at the breather.
On the resumption of play after the half time Mahilpur lads mounted pressure and were able to tighten their grip on the game and scored their first goal in the 61st minute of play. Gurpinder of Mahilpur sent the ball in the net off a cross sent by Jagpreet Singh from the right flank.The second goal for Mahilpur was scored by Harpreet Singh in the dying minutes of the game off a cross sent by mehtab singh from right flank. Jagpreet wearing was cautioned and shown yellow card by the referee for his ungentlemen conduct during the match.
In the third match of the day, defending champion Chandigarh Football Academy thrashed Gujarat Football Association by the huge margin of 15 -0. Inder Mohan opened the account in the 3rd minute of play and scored Ist goal for his team. Jatinder scored second goal in 7th minute of play. Mobashir scored five goals for CFA, including four in a row. He scored in the 22nd,23rd,28th,34th and 44th minute of play. Harpal singh, amarjeet singh scored one goal each for CFA in the 36th and 40th minute of play. CFA lads were leading by 9-0 at the breather.
After the half time Chandigarh Football Academy pumped six goals. Ramdin scored in 49th, Harpal Singh in 51st and 77th minute of play, Harsharan scored in 66th and 71st minute of play, Amarjeet scored in 72nd minute of play.
The fourth match of the day played between FCC Assam and Chandigarh Football Association at Sector 17 Football Stadium was abandoned as one of the player of FCC Assam Hirajit Metei got injured and was rushed to hospital. However Chandigarh football association was leading by 7-0at the half time.
