Chandigarh: Feniced AIFF Academy from Navi Mumbai thrashed DAV Chandigarh by the big margin of 10-0 in the 11th Administrator's Challenge Cup All-India Football Tournament (U-17) Boys here on Tuesday.
DAV lads were in defensive mode right from the word go. They fielded eight players in their defence line which gave less space to the AIFF players to move around in the vital area to strike and took 8 minutes to open the account. First goal for AIFF was scored by Rakesh Oram by heading the ball into the net in the 14th minute of play. Second goal for AIFF scored by Bidhyananda Singh by a powerful drive from 30 yards in the 21st minute of play while the third goal came from Bidhyananda in the 25th minute of play.
Thereafter AIFF lads took a firm grip over the match. Suman Sarkar scored three goals in a row in the 25th,42nd and 59th minute of play. The winners were leading by 5-0 at the breather.
After the lemon breaker, AIFF lads pumped five more goals and sealed the fate of DAV Chandigarh. Substitue Delbert scored two goals for AIFF in the 67th and 71st minute of play. Prashanth K scored in 88th minute of play . Delbert fernandes scored the last goal in the dying minutes of play and completed the talley.
In the second match of the day played at Sector 17 football stadium, GTC Shillong blanked Panasonik HFA Academy Haryana. Haryana lads were no match to the GTC lads. The star of the day was Naoba Metai, who scored all three goals in a row for GTC Shillong. Vijesh Sing of GTC Shillong was cautioned and shown yellow card by the referee for indulging in rough tackling.
In the third match of the day played at Sector-17 football stadium, Bhutia Football Academy thrashed Gujarat Football Association by big margin of 8-0. Ikrat Singh opened the account for his team in the 19th minute of play and scored first goal for his team. Gagandeep singh scored second goal in 22nd minute of play. Third goal was scored by Sunveer in the 29th minute of play. Fourth goal was scored by Ikrat Singh in the 36th minute of play. Bhutia lads were leading by 4-0 at breather.
On the resumption of play after lemon break Bhutia lads pumped two more goals goals. Gagandeep scored 5th goal in 60th minute of play. Sixth goal was scored by Sagar Singla in 68th minute of play. Seventh goal was scored by Tsewang in 76th minute of play where as Mohil scored the last goal in 82nd minute of play and completed the talley. Sagar Singla of Bhutia Academy was cautioned and shown yellow card by the referee for his involvement in rough play.
In the fourth match of the day played at Sector 42 sports Complex, Sahayatri Football Academy shared point with Mahilpur Football Academy. Both the teams were equally balanced and exhibited brilliant game from the word go.
After the barren first half Sahayatri lads came up with couple of good moves and raided the defence line of Mahilpur. In the 65th minute of play Lanky Golie of Sahayatri Dipan Talukdar kicked the ball deep into the Mahilpur’s half, after one bounce the ball went over the defence line of Mahilpur which was taken by speedy striker of Sahayatri SK. Suraj Ali who made no mistake in placing the ball accurately in the goal of Mahilpur. After conceding the goal Mahilpur lads mounted pressure and were able to equalise the goal in the 82nd minute of play. Manjinder Singh scored equaliser for his team. The match ended in 1-1 at the long whistle.
