Bangalore: In the last round of matches of the 3rd Mahindra Youth Football Challenge being held at Bangalore Football Stadium, Don Bosco, Matunga (Mumbai) beat Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj (New Delhi) 1 – 0, Ruchir Keny scored the lone goal of the match at the stroke of half time, enough to take the team from Delhi to its fifth straight loss. Nathan Fernandes from Mumbai was recognized as the Star Performer of the match.
In other matches, Greenwood International, Bangalore and Don Bosco, Panjim, (Goa) shared honours with a 2 – 2 final score. The team from Bangalore opened the scoring with Viswa Kalyanaraman netting the ball in the 16th minute, not wasting any time, Ryan A. D'costa from Don Bosco Goa equalized with a goal in the 17th. The team from Goa went one up with Glevito S. Miranda scoring in the 45th minute, but a late charge by Rishabh Agarwal in the 47th minute levelled the scores for Bangalore. Glevito S. Miranda from Don Bosco, Goa was adjudged the Star Performer of the match.
In the final match of the day Ashoknagar Vidyasagar Banibhaban (Kolkata) took on St. Joseph's High School, Calicut (Kerala). The Kolkata team maintained their unbeaten record by blanking the team from Kolkata 3 – 0. Md. Habib opened the scoring in the 8th minute followed by a strike from Sumit Das in the 12th; Santanu Debnath clinched the game for his team by scoring the deciding goal in the 16th minute. An all round performance by Md. Habib earned him the award for being the Star Performer of the game.

The Mahindra Youth Football Challenge is the Mahindra Group’s commitment to promote football at the grassroots level.
