Hyderabad: The Karting season in the country got off to a scorcher with Round 1 of the JK Tyre-Meco Motorsports Rotax Max Kart Open 2013 at The Kart Centre – Lahari Resorts in Hyderabad today. Paul Francis, Teja Ram and Arjun Nair shared honours in Round 1 of the Rookie class in the Micro Max, Junior Max and Senior Max categories respectively. Known as the JK Tyre-MMS Rotax Rookie Cup till last year, this is the fourth edition of the event presented by JK Tyre Industries Limited in association with Meco Motorsports.

In the Micro Max class Bangalore-lad Paul Francis representing Meco Racing did exceedingly well to finish with 3 third spot and 1 second spot finish. With 40 points he finished on top in the Rookie class followed by Shahan Mohsin (Meco Racing) on 30 points and Oorjit Mishra (Meco Racing) on 25 points to complete the top three.
