Chandigarh: Dalbir Football Academy, Patiala will face Chandigarh Football Academy for the title of 10th Administrator's Challenge Cup Football Tournament.
In the first semi final played at Sec-17 , Dalbir Football Academy edge past Mahilpur Football Academy via penalty shoot outs by the margin of 4-1.
Both the teams were locked at 0-0 on the completion of the stipulated time. Extra time of 15 minutes in two equal halves was given but both the teams were not able to score.To break the tie the rule of kicks from the penalty mark was applied in which Dalbir Football Academy proved their supermacy.During the kicks from the penalty mark Kirpal Singh of Dalbir made no mistake in sending the first shot in goal. Thefirst shot for Mahilpur was taken by Rohin Kumar which was saved brilliantly by Dalbir Custodian Agiapal Singh.
Second kick for Dalbir was converted by Santosh KUmar and Manpreet Singh also converted econd kick for Mahilpur. Third and fourth kicks of Dalbir were converted by Harpreet and Sukhjit Singh. The third kick for Mahilpur was taken byu Baljit Singh who missed the target and kicked the ball but thus Dalbir Football Academy Patiala won the match by 4-1.
In the second semi final played at Sector-17 Football Stadium hot contender Chandigarh Football Academy drubbed Gorkha Training Centre by 4-0.
Both the teams displayed brilliant game and framed good moves at many occasions of the games. After the barren first half CFA lads mounted pressure and pumped three goals. The first goal for CFA was scored by Inder in the 51st minute of play. Second goal was scored by Daniel in 76th minute of play.Third goal was scored by Samuel in the 79th inute of play.
K.Lal scored fourth goal for CFA in 87th minute of play off a penalty kick,. Match for 3rd place will be played between Mahilpur Football Academy and Gorkha Training Center Shillong on 23.10.2012 at 9.00 am at Sector 42 Sports Complex and final will be played between Chandigarh Football Academy ad Dalbir Football Academy, Patiala on 23.10.2012 at 2.00 pm at Sector-17, Football Stadium, Chandigarh.
