New Delhi: Siddhant Sharma’s all-round performance helped Ravindra Public School, Pitam Pura beat Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj by nine wickets in a Group C league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup u-16 inter-school tournament, played at Bal Bharti Public School ground, Dwarka.
Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj won the toss and opted to bat first. But failed to build solid partnerships and they managed to score 104 for seven wickets in 35 overs. Due to the tight bowling and acute fielding of Ravindra Public School, their wickets fell at regular intervals.
Sant Sangwan played a gutsy innings of 37 runs and took team’s score to respectable 104. Ravindra Public School bowlers Ghanshyam Singh (2/20) and Siddhant Sharma (1/22) didn’t allow the oppositions to play freely.
In reply, Ravindra Public School achieved the target by losing only one wicket. Vivek Bhatu (37 not out) and Siddhant Sharma (25 not out) steered the team with their unbeaten innings and won the match in just 11 overs.
Siddhant was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his all-round display.
